Math – Cylinder Shaker

To support their current UOI under the central idea ‘Recognizing our uniqueness can help us to better understand who we are’, Nursery students learned to identify 3D shapes. This time, they learned to recognize cylinder. They identified the shape by touching and holding cylinder objects and mention its name as well. To find out more about the properties of this particular shape they made a shaker from a used can. Nursery Rainbow and Sky students were happy to choose what bean to be used for filling their can, such as peanuts, mung bean, or colored rice. Then, they decorated their shaker by painting and pasting it. Meanwhile, Nursery Sun and Moon turned their shaker into a cylinder monster. Once they have finished, they could barely wait to listen to the sound produced from their shaker.
