WHO WE ARE

CENTRAL IDEA: TOLERANCE OF DIFFERENT CHARACTERISTICS SUPPORTS PEOPLE TO INTERACT WITH OTHERS AND BUILD FRIENDSHIPS.

EY2 students are learning about :
• different characteristics of people
• analyze why they need friends
• how behavior influences friendship
They will be able to think about other children’s feelings and are
learning the qualities and skills of being a good friend, including:
• taking turns
• listening to other children’s ideas in play
• doing what other children want to
• sharing their toys
• understanding how other children may be feeling
• using words to describe their feelings and thoughts
• playing group games
Doing role play: copying the behavior of being a good / bad friends

English

This unit supports the students to use the appropriate gestures, take actions, body language and/or words to communicate needs and also to express ideas. They are going to learn how to
remember their teachers and classmates names and also interact
with them by having conversations. They are going to have these
learning experiences to improve their listening and speaking skills. Children are also going to improve their reading skills by pointing, examining pictures and commenting when they have the reading sessions. Children are also learning to write using different writing
media and starting to learn to show an awareness of sound-symbol relationships and how the familiar sounds can be recorded.

Maths

Early Years 2 students are going to learn how to create living graphs using real objects and people, comparing objects by using the terms like longer-the longest, shorter-the shortest, taller-the tallest, etc. and they are learning to do
addition and subtraction number within 10.

Visual Arts

Related Concept: Interaction
In Visual Art, Early Years 2 students are going to enjoy and engage with a variety of visual arts experiences. They are going to learn how to take responsibility for the care of tools and materials.

Music

Related Concept: Interaction
Early Years 2 are learning how to use their voice to imitate sounds and learning various songs in music
time. They are also going to learn how to respond to music. The listening and responding emphasizes active participation by students, where they
experience an extensive range of music and respond to the music in a variety of ways.

Physical Education
Key Concept: Function, Causation
Related Concept: Interaction, Tolerance
PE lesson for Early Years 2 is also fun. In this unit, they are going to develop their spatial awareness, gross motor skills, explore loco motor and non-loco motor skills using music as stimulus. They are learning to jump and land appropriately with their awareness of
safety when exercising.
