Hot and Cold

In the first unit, Nursery students learnt to use the attributes of real objects to compare and contrast. This time they identified two opposite concepts hot and cold by having two hands-on activities: a tea party and an ice cream galore. Before having a cup of tea, these young learners had a class discussion, talking about the attributes of hot water presented. Some of them mentioned that chili, rice and the sun are hot too. They enjoyed the tea so much that they asked for more. Then, when they knew that they were about to eat something cold, they said enthusiastically that ice cream is cold to answer their teacher’s inquiry, and they licked the spoon until the very last drop.
