Math – Position (inside – outside, above – below)

Grade 1 students are learning to describe the position of objects according to a point of reference: inside, outside, above, below, left, right and middle.

To differentiate inside and outside, after the teachers’ explanation, the students show their understanding by using the real objects and arrange them properly and make the sentence based on that condition.

In learning the position above and below the students analyze from the pictures shown. Then they make the sentence to show their understanding of above and below. For examples: The dolphins are above the water surface. The sky is below the plane.
