Let’s Create Body Percussion Rhythm!

Kids just love to move and this week EY 1 students practice to create Body Percussion Rhythm by following a music called “Bim Bum – A Clapping Game Song”. This activity is a great way to boost brain development, co-ordination, cognitive abilities as well as to bring the class together! Not to mention increasing concentration. So while the students are developing their gross motor movements, they’re having lots of fun at the same time.

Of course the first steps towards learning body percussion is simple hand clapping. And  gradually we introduced more complex patterns of rhythms such as, snap and pat.

  • Bim represents clap
  • Bum represents snap
  • Biddy represents pat

Turns out the kids loved the challenge of memorizing the movements! So much fun!
