Even though PYP Exhibition has passed, it doesn’t mean that the learning process stops there. As stated in PYP The Learner (2018, p. 30), “Students take action in response to their inquiries or motivation to make a positive difference …. As an integral part of the learning process, action can be embarked upon at any point and can take many forms, depending on individual development, learning and experiences.”
It is further stated that action can be performed at school or in local or wider communities. In line with those statements mentioned, two groups of this year’s PYP Exhibition; Hope Givers and Little Authors took their action this week. As their Summative Assessment, they wrote stories related to their group topics; Endangered Animals and Promoting Good Reading Habits. They decided to take action by donating their published stories to a local reading centre – Rumah Baca Umi, Bekasi – as well as the SVP school library.
The students involved do hope that their stories can reach wider readers and give a beneficial impacts.
