Excursion to Museum Fatahillah and Museum Wayang

In line with the second line of inquiry, which talks about the changing use of buildings, students went for an excursion to Museum Fatahillah and Museum Wayang. These two places are the evidence of buildings that changes functions. Museum Fatahillah was formerly a city hall of Batavia (the former name of Jakarta) when Indonesia was still in the governance of Dutch colonial. On the other hand, Museum Wayang was formerly a church which was used by the Dutch to pray. These two places were given to Indonesian Government after the Independence of Indonesia, and were used as Museums to exhibit the history of Indonesia. Students were so amazed when the tour guides explains the history of the building. They showed their curiosity by asking some questions to the tour guide. It was a good experience for the students as they learned the history of their country.
