Caring for Animals

The theme for this month’s Baby gym class was about animals. To give the children knowledge about caring for animals, on the first week, we did some activities such as giving food to fish, turtles and rabbits. On the second week, we did storytelling about wild animals by giving them animal hats such as lion, tiger, elephant, giraffe, alligator and monkey. The teacher read a book titled “In the Jungle” then the children made the animal movements.

For the third week, we made an aquarium using asturo paper, then the children pasted some fish and seaweed pictures to improve their fine motor skills. We also did yoga sessions after the ‘Good Morning’ song. Students imitated some poses from the teacher. We used a few new songs this month. They were Laba2 Kecil, Old McDonald and Walking in the Jungle. Students furthered their learning experiences in the ‘Obstacles’ game. Students practiced their gross motor skills by rolling, crawling, throwing balls into a big donut, and pushing trolleys.

For closing, students played hide and seek using a parachute then they played tug of war. The children were very enthusiastic while doing the activities.
