My Little Body

During November, we had fun teaching baby gym body parts with fun motor games and activities. To make learning body parts fun and memorable with songs, dances, and more, Baby Gym students explored a theme about parts of body and five senses. The three songs that we had are Dua Mata Saya, Kepala Pundak Lutut Kaki, and One Little Finger.

As the learning experiences, they had a mirror play activity while singing ‘dua mata saya’ in the first week. The following week, they made puzzles of faces. The students looked at what the parts of the face were, such as eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. In the third week, they put the beads onto the pipe cleaners provided on the box, here they had to be focused on the job. In the last week, the newest activity that the baby gym students had was exploring parts of body by using mannequins. In this session, the teachers tried to encourage them to touch the mannequin and point to the body parts. Some of them were brave, but others still needed the teacher’s encouragement.

Meanwhile, we also had a yoga session. Students enthusiastically imitated some poses that were demonstrated by the teacher, as follows: frog, camel, star, moon, boat, triangle and flamingo poses. Another of their learning experiences was the obstacle game, students practiced their gross motor skills by crawling, walking, balancing, jumping frog and climbing. They were so enthusiastic to do the activities.
